Bonnie Claudia Harrison is the director of the Englewood Mapping Project, an online database documenting the lives and stories of early African Americans in Englewood from 1850-1920, when the neighborhood was predominantly inhabited by European immigrants.
Dr. Harrison holds a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Texas Austin. From 2009-2010, she conducted post-doctoral research on Black Englewood with the Black Metropolis Research Consortium at the University of Chicago. She is currently the mother of a toddler and the co-Chair of the Social Science Department at Kennedy-King College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago.
